Bart Watté (°1979) is één van de meest veelzijdige muzikale talenten van zijn generatie. Hij studeerde klarinet bij Eddy Vanoosthuyse in het Lemmensinstituut te Leuven en behaalde voor zowel zijn Masterproef als zijn Specialisatie-eindexamen klarinet de grootste onderscheiding. Verder volgde hij nog meestercursussen bij Robert Spring, Howard Klug, Luis Rossi, Eduard Brunner, Thomas Friedli, Anthony Pay en Wenzel Fuchs. Hij studeerde orkestdirectie bij Edmond Saveniers en Nick Ost.

Naast zijn hoofdbezigheid als soloklarinettist in de Muziekkapel van de Gidsen is hij in België en daarbuiten zeer gewaardeerd als solist, kamermusicus, freelancer, arrangeur, studiomuzikant, gastleraar en dirigent.

Zijn steeds groeiende passie voor muziek zette hem uiteindelijk ook aan het componeren. Zijn composities wortelen in klassiek-romantische tradities maar zijn beïnvloed door een brede waaier aan stijlen, gaande van volksmuziek tot film- en elektronische muziek.

Bart Watté (°1979) is one of the most versatile musical talents of his generation. He studied clarinet with Prof. Eddy Vanoosthuyse in the "Lemmensinstituut" College of Music in Leuven, Belgium. He obtained both his Master's Degree and his Specialisation Degree with the greatest distinction and had Master Classes with Robert Spring, Howard Klug, Luis Rossi, Eduard Brunner, Thomas Friedli, Anthony Pay and Wenzel Fuchs. He studied orchestral conducting with Prof. Edmond Saveniers and Nick Ost.

Next to his main occupation as co-principal clarinet in the Royal Band of the Guides, he is a much appreciated soloist, chamber musician, freelancer, private teacher, arranger, studio musician, clinician and conductor in Belgium and abroad.

His ever growing passion for music also drew him to composing. His compositions, though originating in classical/romantic traditions, are influenced by an array of styles, from folk music to film music and electronic music.
