Bart Picqueur, Belgisch componist en dirigent genoot zijn professionele opleiding in het Koninklijk Muziekconcervatorium van Gent (huidige School of Arts) waar hij meestergraden behaalde voor theorie, hafabradirectie en klarinet, alsook het pedagogisch diploma.
Hij kreeg er les van inspirerende mensen als Dirk Brossé, Freddy Arteel, Fabrice Bollon en Francois Glorieux en volgde masterclasses in België en in het buitenland.

Op dit moment is Bart Picqueur drligent van de KHSC Zele, waarmee hij verschillende prijzen won, waaronder de 2e plats in het Vlaams Open Kampioenschap door harmonieorkesten.

De voorbije jaren ontwikkelde hij ten carrierre als componist en dirigent op de internationale blaasmuziekscene. Hij dirigeerde verschillende amateur- en professionele orkesten in Frankrijk, Spanje en Duitsland. Zijn werken warden op CD opgenomen door internationaal befaamde ensembles als de Koninklijke muziekkapel der Belgische gidsen (B), Osaka Municipal Band (JP), Rundfunk blasorchester Leipzig (D), de koninklijke militaire kapel (NL) etc.

Hij was actief als muziekregisseur bij CD opnames van de koninklijke muziekkapel der Belgische Gidsen, de “Musikkapelle der Deutsche Bundeswehr” en het “RBO Leipzig”.

Naast zijn werk als componist en dirigent leidt Bart Picqueur ook jonge dirigenten op in zijn klas te Gent.

Bart Picqueur - Composer

Bart Picqueur, Belgian composer and conductor of band music got his professional training at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Ghent where he obtained master degrees in conducting and clarinet as well as a pedagogical diploma. Among his teachers: Dirk Brossé, Freddy Arteel, Fabrice Bollon and Francois Glorieux… Nowadays, Bart Picqueur is principal conductor of the“Koninklijke Harmonie Ste. Cecilia Zele”. With this band he won various prizes including the 2nd place in the Belgian nationals (highest division) in 2013.

The last few years he has devellopped a carreer both as conductor and composer in the international music scene. He conducted various professional and amateur bands in France, Spain and Germany. His works have been recorded by leading orchestras such as “the Royal Band of the Belgian Guides”, “Osaka Municipal band”, “Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig”, “The Dutch Royal Military band” etc.

As musical supervisor he recorded cd’s with the “Royal Band of the Belgian Guides”,the “Musikkapelle der Deutsche Bundeswehr” and the “RBO Leipzig”.

Beside his work as composer and conductor, Picqueur trains young conductors in his classes in Ghent and Ostend and at several master classes
